Colombian Cardamom
The lush green hills of Colombia offer excellent growing conditions for cardamom plants. Our cardamom’s intense, peppery aroma and vibrant green appearance will really lighten up your dishes.
Tips
Whereas the seeds do well in your (Swedish) pastries and other baked goods, you can use the
whole pods for curries, stews, and soups.
When using the whole pod it is still recommended to crush the pod a little bit. You can use a rolling pin, or the flat surface of your kitchen knife, for example. When you want to use just the seeds on the inside, consider using a mortar and pestle to open up the pods. Most seeds should fall out, but any leftover seeds you can remove using a small fork. You may discard the pod itself, as it does not contain much flavor.
